10 days late, but... done!

Well, I gave up on finishing it in time to wear it to the wedding, but I did, eventually, manage to finish the swallowtail shawl. Those damn nupps in the last section (create 5 stitches out of 1 stitch on the RS row, and then purl them all back together on the WS row) just about killed me the first row. It took me over 90 minutes to do a single WS row, and that completely blew the schedule. So, the next day I went out and bought a pretty little pashmina shawl, instead. *g*

I did switch the nupps from a five-stitch one to a three-stitch one for all later rows, though. I doubt I would have ever finished, otherwise - trying to purl 5 stitches together was just killing my hands.

So, I finished it last night, and blocked it out this morning. I do quite like it, and now I have a nice little shawl in a neutral shade that I can wear the next time something like this comes up.

Here's a nice, artsy view of it blocking, with the Pooka in the background. What's a blocking picture without a cat in it, after all?

And, a shot of the border stitches.

Next up, I'll probably either try to finish the Jaywalker socks, or I'll start swatching for the sweater I'm knitting Mike for Christmas. Swatching, probably - since I won't get to knit the sweater when I'm around Mike, I should probably use most of my on-my-own-time to work on it. *g*
